Freshwater Saltwater: Existence, official exhibition launch

Visitors are welcomed to the UMI Arts Gallery of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art for the official exhibition launch of Freshwater Saltwater: Existence exhibition.

Freshwater Saltwater: Existence showcases 22 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and communities from Far North Queensland. This exhibition includes a wide range of mediums including paintings, works on paper, photography, digital prints, wood, ceramics, artefacts, steel and 3D works.

Artists exhibiting in Freshwater Saltwater: Existence- Agnes Mark, Arone Meeks, Cheryl Creed, Dave Daffey, Edna Ambrym, Gertrude Davis, Glen Mackie, Heather Koowootha, Kel Williams, Lisa Michl, Michelle Yeatman, Naseli Tamwoy, Nickeema Williams, Philomena Yeatman, Robert Tommy Pau, Sharon Karami, Sharon Phineasa, Susan Kennedy, Toby Cedar, Tom Bosen, Vincent Babia and Wayne McGinness.

This year’s theme is “existence” with artists producing works responding and reflecting to the theme.
