When you’re heading up to Cape Tribulation or the Daintree Rainforest there are plenty of little stops along the way that are worthy of a visit and the Big Barramundi is certainly one to check out.
Located in the Daintree Village, the Big Barramundi is an al fresco style diner serving some seriously delicious meals Far North Queensland style. If you’re feeling adventurous, who not grab your laughing gear around a crocodile pie? Better yet, why not “hop” right into a kangaroo burger? Yet, what would the Big Barramundi be without barramundi on the menu? Barramundi is the house speciality, served in a range of dishes including the ever popular True Blue dish (a serving of croc, roo and barra). Nothing beats a fresh barramundi and they really don’t come any fresher in the Daintree.
When you’re done grabbing a bite to eat, we recommend you check out the village and the local shops. The town has a timber museum, local art galleries showcasing some of the regions creative flair, souvenir shops and is in close proximity to the Daintree River, which has daily boat charters running that provide visitors with the opportunity to view the ecology and wildlife of the Daintree at a relaxed pace.
