Spanning at over 50 metres high, Nandroya Falls are quite the visual spectacle. Located in Wooroonooran National Park (20 kilometres west of Innisfail), the falls present an excellent photo opportunity for both the large drop off and the smaller fall further down.
The main fall is a picturesque drop with huge cliff faces on either side. Get there early in the morning of you want to get some really good shots. The lower fall is only small, yet the water flow is wide and the waterhole is surrounded by lush rainforest, setting the scene for some incredible shots.
To get to Nandroya Falls, it is best accessible from the Henrietta Creek camping ground, where venturers can cross the creek footbridge and follow the track until they come to a fork. Take the left fork and follow the track for about 1.7 kilometres then you will find Nandroya Falls. This walk is around 2 – 3 hours each way and is considered moderate in difficulty, yet it is well worth the trek.
